Kusama - the legendary artist, sculptor, and overall bad-ass biddy, is the star of this autobiographical doc.
We learn about her troubled upbringing and venture into the arts. She was fearless, a little odd, and extremely forward thinking. She bulldozed a male-dominated industry only to be pushed aside and not taken seriously.
Through the twists and turns of her life, we see a troubled and beautiful mind make her way through life via art. Amazingly, we see that many of the then-famous male artists like Warhol, lightly stole from Kusama’s exhibits and re-created them as their own. Long sigh.
Any who, she’s a treat to watch - albeit a little strange - but you’ll enjoy I promise.
